The Backbone Ridge DFPZ Plan identifies those lands with a high fuel loading level along the ridgeline, reviews options to maximize biomass utilization and experiment with various methods of treatment, identifies required environmental planning documents and permits necessary to complete the projects, and seeks to obtain landowner participation. The purpose of this document is to prepare a strategic fuel reduction program for the development and implementation of the Backbone Ridge Defensible Fuel Profile Zone (DFPZ), along Backbone Ridge between the Cow Creek and Pit River watersheds.
